If you haven't been using argan oil as part your beauty routine (skincare and hair) then you should definitely consider trying it! I've been using argan oil products for probably about 2 years now. I use them regularly and I find the benefits have been amazing. Since stopping Botox and fillers last July after I got pregnant (still not using them as I'm breastfeeding) I had to work harder at my skin to prevent aging...and adding more argan oil was the answer!
Argan oil includes fatty acids, but it also a great source of vitamin E, which is what gives you healthy skin, hair and eyes! So it makes sense to include it as a topical product for your skin and hair. If you are looking for products to improve skin and hair that have argan oil, I've listed my favourite products that I swear by below!
I've used this foundation on and off for a couple years now. It has argan oil in it which is both good and bad.
Here are the cons of this product: It's a bit greasy because of the argan oil. So if you have large pores and fine lines you will absolutely need to use a setting powder (or mix it with a powder to matify it). I use Urban Decay's Velvetizer. Because it's greasy, it's not the best foundation for warmer days. I usually use it when my skin is dry - like in the winter for example, or when I find my skin is looking dull. Hence why I don't use it all the time. I also recommend applying with a primer!
Pros: When applied well, it looks amazing on the skin. It gives a nice dewy finish. It has the argan oil component, which means it's more than just a foundation! It covers well without feeling super cakey!
This is pure argan oil, but a bit lighter. Her original argan oil was too much for skin and would cause me to break out, while this was is exactly what my skin needed. For drier skin, you can probably use the regular version. This can also be applied to scars and stretch marks or to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. I've used it on my face - it's a good all-year round product. I use it when my skin is looking/feeling dry, after sun, to help with dullness and lack-lustre skin. Best used right after a hot shower so it really absorbs and does it's job properly!
Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Serum (not pictured above)
Speaking of serum...here is a product I do use regularly. This is also a splurge, but I use it every night before bed. I got this when I was pregnant. Between the Canadian winter and pregnancy, my skin was DRY and most of products that I had been relying on previously to keep my skin looking great contained ingredients that weren't safe for pregnancy. This product was my saving grace - so much that I've continued to use it despite its outrageous price tag. I wake up with great skin, and I'm afraid to stop using this hahaha. I think when I start getting Botox again I will continue to use this because I love the results.
Palmer's Tummy Butter - for stretch marks
Momma's to be or anyone struggling with stretch marks, consider this product. Now, I don't know if this is what prevented my stretch marks, but I weighed 105lbs pre pregnancy and gained over 40lbs while I was pregnant. I'm pretty tiny and I escaped stretch marks. I applied this stuff religiously throughout my pregnancy - every night before bed. It contains ingredients such as argan oil and cocoa butter - all the good stuff. Warning: it's a butter - literally. The consistency is hard and almost cakey. You have to dig it out and warm it up in your hands before applying...but I am telling you it is worth it. I went through 3-4 jars of it and I HIGHLY recommend giving it a try. I linked the product, but if you live in Canada you can purchase it at Shopper's Drug Mart or Rexall for about $10 or around that price.
Two AWESOME hair care products that contain argan oil! I've been using these since the winter I believe. I have really fine, thin hair and it has been difficult to find a shampoo and conditioner that truly does my hair any justice. Both of these leave my hair shiny and give it volume - which I honestly don't think I've experienced before. They contain other oils as well - but either way it has such a great effect on my hair. I've gone through the conditioner three times and the shampoo twice. It's a little pricey, however I wash my hair about every 2-3 days so I don't go through it as quickly.
