best masks

I LOVE face masks. I don't really have the budget to head to the spa and get a facial every week, but I take skincare pretty seriously so I invested in products that made a difference on my skin. I find that a face mask or lip mask can help solve different skin issues. I've tried many over the years, and I've finally found a few I can really rely on. Keep in mind I have combination skin, but I don't like to try and matte any oils on my skin too much (you want your skin to produce oil to slow the aging process). Whether I'm experiencing dullness, dryness, exhaustion, lack of hydration, a break out or texture, these are the masks I keep on hand to help solve my skin problems.

If you're looking to try some new skincare masks this year, these are my recommendations!

Favourite Hydrating And Moisturizing Masks

GlamGlow Thirsty Mud

I've used this mask for year and I still love it. Sometimes I'll multi-mask this one with a charcoal mask if I'm having a breakout at the same time.

Farmacy Coconut Gel Sheet Mask - Brightening and Hydrating

LOVE both of these masks. I especially love them one when I'm traveling. I've mentioned many times that traveling by plane just ruins my skin. I get super dry and always end up with a breakout - sometimes a really bad one. This mask is great to pop in the fridge and use after travel. If you don't have a fridge it's fine right out of the package too. When I feel like my skin is looking really dull, I love the brightening mask - it makes such a difference in my skin.

Laneige Water Pocket Sheet Mask

Another great sheet mask to keep in the fridge. If I'm feeling tired and my skin lacks hydration, I'll use this. Keep it in the fridge and use it on the weekend before you meet up with friends for a night out. Your skin will look hydrated and fresh.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

Don't have time to wait for a mask? This sleeping mask is perfect for when you need to wake up looking fresh. Whether you stayed out late or had a Netflix marathon that went a bit later than you hoped for, this mask will leave you waking up with fresh skin. Apply it about 15 minutes before you go to bed so you can let it absorb.

For Correcting Texture, Irritation and Breakouts

(By texture I don't necessarily mean breakouts - just when your skin feels clogged and uneven)

Farmacy Honey Potion

This mask is expensive, so if I'm experiencing serious texture and irritation problems I'll use this - which really isn't that often. But it absolutely does the trick! The honey is a key ingredient, but I can't say enough great things about this. When I returned from San Diego I had an insane allergy reaction on my skin in the form of tiny little blisters around my nose and t-zone. It was awful - it felt a little painful and oily. I used this mask for probably 2-3 nights to help clear it up.

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores

I use this mask any time I get a breakout. I'll admit I haven't had a breakout since getting pregnant, so I haven't had to use this in a while, but now that my skin is returning to normal (insert sad face) I'll def. need to start using it again. I get hormonal breakouts before my period and this mask is my saving grace.

Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask

I love this mask. I don't know how good it is for your skin as it's a peeling mask, so there is some tugging involved, however I don't use it that often for it to be an issue. When I feel like I have some texture or clogged pores (usually around my nose and chin) I'll use this. It's a very satisfying mask - slightly messy - but it certainly helps clear things up and smooth your skin.

Origins - Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay

This is one of my current favourites. In fact, I use this mask about once a week. It's a clean mask so it's safe for pregnancy. I usually applying to my problem areas and then sit in a warm bath and let the mask dry before rinsing it off. After my skin looks brighter and feels SO smooth and soft. I absolutely love this mask. Great for texture issues, but also great for just bringing some life back into your skin.

Lips and Eyes

Tarte Pack Your Bags Undereye Patches

I'll throw a packet of these in my travel toiletries bag just in case! Early flights that leave your eyes puffy - these are your answer. I prefer to travel with these eye masks over any others as I find they work the best at hydrating my under eye and de-puffing, but also because they are easy to pack. They don't come in a giant packet, so I can slip them in my little in-flight bag. They are great on the plane for long haul flights as well.

Boscia Sake Brightening Bio-Cellulose Eye Masks

This eye mask is one that I use at home. If I have plans to go somewhere on Friday night and I'm looking a little drowsy lol, I'll use these. For sure keep them in the fridge as the cooling effect will help with de-puffing.

Laneige - Lip Sleeping Mask

I have talked about this lip mask so much on my Instagram and I think I've linked it in my blog before too. It's probably one of the must-have products everyone should have. If you have dry lips, love wearing dark lipsticks...this mask will make your lips SO smooth! I put it on every night before bed, but sometimes when I have really dry lips I'll wear it in the morning as well.

Bite Beauty - Agave Lip Mask
