If you're an adult, you shouldn't be showing up to a party empty handed. That's poor etiquette. The easy way out is a bottle of wine (which is almost always welcomed with open arms) but during the holiday season I like to be more thoughtful. Hosting a gathering / get-together is a lot of work and money, so it's important to be considerate of that. During the holiday season when there's something going on 3 or 4 times a week, it takes a special kind of soul to do the hosting. I've put together a list of thoughtful items that can be gifted with a nice bottle of wine or packaged with a few items to make a thoughtful gift for the host.
A nice journal is a great idea - like this one - because it will be used. I love the idea of it being a goals journal, it's a great way to help inspire. A cozy throw like this white pom pom one is great because the colour is neutral and you can never have enough throws!
I love adding a cute ornaments like these or this one to a gift. It's something special and thoughtful that your host will bring out each year and add to their tree. Another easy item to add to a host gift is candy.
Bitters and cocktail kits are a super cool gift. Especially if your host enjoy making fancy cocktails. These whiskey glasses and rocks are also a nice gift to bring. Or these copper wine glasses - something different from your typical wine glass (which most already own).
I am VERY intrigued by these pink salt planks. I would love to get one of these as a hostess gift. You basically cook things on them and gives them a nice tastes. So cool!
If you know your hostess well, and they love coffee and don't own a French press, you need to get them on that train. This one is beautiful with the copper detail. A knife set is also a good idea. This one in particular is really affordable, which is an added bonus.
Cutting boards / serving boards are easy to gift, and I love ones that mix elements.
Do you guys bring your hostess a gift?
