I am CRAZY about the culottes trend for fall. I snatched a pair of pink coloured culottes from Zara the other week after seeing my friend wear them and I knew I would be grabbing more. At first, they're a little hard to get used to. I'm used to wearing form fitting clothes, so I wasn't sure about them, but as I waltzed into the office wearing them one morning I got tons of compliments on them, and the girls I work with were interested in buying a pair for themselves.
They are most definitely the most comfortable pair of pants I own, and they're just too easy! When you put them on, it looks like you've spent a lot of money on them and it makes your outfit look like you put some effort into them. I love culottes with a paper bag waist that ties becuase they look great with a form-fitted top tucked into them. I've found a few really cute styles that are great for work and play, which you can see below. I've also created a widget with several other styles as well...and as always each item in this post is under $100USD.
If you're curious about what type of footwear you can wear with this style of pant...pretty much anything goes, but I did create a footwear widget incase you're not really sure.
I love culottes jumpsuits. These are ideal for work, especially if you have plans after work. Why? Throw a blazer over top of it during the day at the office, and take the blazer off when you leave - instant transition outfit. I love THIS black culottes jumpsuit and THIS one as well, and I also thought THIS white one was really cute.
I love THESE pink culottes! Perhaps not work appropriate, but they would be great for a nice dinner. I love the slits down the centre of each leg and how it adds a nice dynamic to the flow of them.
THESE would be perfect for a day of running errands where you also have plans to catch up with a friend. I really love the bright colour and the bow is a nice touch.
For more work appropriate culottes, these camel-coloured ones are nice and neutral, and the black tie belt gives them a stylish finish. THESE are perhaps your best best for a conservative office.
