CHOCOLATE EASTER BARK | baking

Well kids, there has not been much cooking going on in this household. We've both been getting home from work late, and so we are just sort of throwing together whatever we can. But since Easter is coming up, I needed to get something together. Bryon has two nieces, 5 and 3 and so I thought I would make something that would be fun for them. This literally took me fifteen minutes to makes, and everything was pretty inexpensive. However, it tastes great and it looks super pretty. I used to make peppermint bark at Christmas to give with gifts, and I thought this would be a fun way to change it and make it more appropriate as an Easter treat!

This is the sort of treat you want to give kids that aren't your own. Because it's allllll chocolate! There isn't really a 'recipe' to this, but I will explain what you need at the end of this post.

Let me know if you're making anything tasty for Easter!

Here's how I made this:

What I used:

Milk Chocolate wafers for the base

Blue chocolate wafers

Pink Chocolate wafers

Mini Eggs

Smarties

Sugar Pearls

Pink Sprinkles

Copper Pixie Sugar Dust

Directions:

Melt the milk chocolate first in a saucepan on LOW. Continuously stir it so it doesn't burn.

Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper, and pour the melted chocolate onto the paper

Smooth it out with a spatula

You can throw on some candy, which will be covered by the other chocolates

Next, one at a time, melt the other colours, Pour them over the chocolate in the pan and use a knife to swirl it around

Once you finished adding the other coloured chocolates, you can start to decorate it with any Easter-themed candy and sprinkles. I love the way the pixie sugar dust looked, but Byron was pissed...because the sugar was floating around the kitchen and settling on everything lol.

Once you've finished decorating the bark, let it sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

You can then take it out and start breaking it into pieces.

And you're done!
