BLUE MOUNTAIN | weekend post cards

This past weekend I pretty much over-exerted myself. Bryon is still on holidays, so we decided to finally go snowboarding and made the two hour drive from Toronto to Collingwood to go to Blue Mountain. Let me start by adding that I'm by no means a snowboarder. I've tried it a couple times 4 years ago, without any attention from anyone else. I sort of just winged it. I'm not as brave as a used to be, but I finally bought the gear because Bryon likes it and decided to give it a go again and at the best hill we have in Ontario. I had a bit of a rough start, but ended the day on a good note. We're hoping to get back there again next weekend, and Bryon says next time I need to take a lesson. hahaha. I think he started losing patience with me. If you haven't gone to Blue Mountain - you need to. Especially if you live in Ontario. It's owned by the same company that owns Whistler, and so you get a pretty cool experience out of it. Think of it as a mini Mont Tremblant. If you don't ski or snowboard, there's lots going on in the Village, including a couple really nice spas. I would loved to have gotten some great pics, but all I had was my phone and it was pretty cold out - so the more I expose my phone to the cold weather, the quicker it dies.

After that we went home and played in the pool at our condo. Played, yes. We did handstands, attempted the dirty dancing pose, swam under water and acted like children. I will admit it was basically the best Saturday ever. That's for sure one of the things I love most about Bryon - he's just as goofy as I am.

Now, getting to the over-exertion...the following day I went to the gym before my hockey game. Unfortunately I was one of two girls who showed up to play, so I ended up having to play the entire game, got checked by a girl, which left some intense bruises on my right side. By the time we got back to our condo, I was not feeling my best.

Anyway, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Below are some snapshots from Blue if you're interested in taking a look!

(above and below) the sun was starting to go down, but it was such a beautiful cloud-less day (cold AF though) it made for a pretty backdrop. My goggles were also obviously a little too tight for me.

(above) new Nike socks from Bryon! Aren't they adorable...and no they aren't baby socks. They're for me hahaha. I posted this pick to my Instagram and hAD a few questions about them. You can buy them HERE
