WEEKEND STYLE | at home

March 2, 2017

I work as a marketing manager during the week, and I have to dress up. I love being a girly girl, but on weekends I tone it down a little unless I have plans to go out. And I think most Canadian girls will agree with me that dressing up during the winter months is a bit of a hassle, especially on cold days. The last thing you want to do is wear tights and heels in a snowstorm with a peacoat that isn't warm enough.

So if I don't have anywhere special to be I like to dress down. I got these camo pants from Aritzia about a year and they are literally the most comfortable pants I own. I really love the look of camo too, but these are great because you can wear them with a loose white tee and a pair of Chucks and you're good to go. They also look SUPER cute with a crop top. My pants are no longer availble, but I listed some options below that are similar (or look comfortable and cute). The only downfall with these pants is that in the winter months when I have to go outside, they don't style well with boots. If I must, I'll wear them with my UGGs (cringe-worthy, I know) but usually I don't go anywhere far like that hahaha.

Make-up wise, I also tone it down. I wear the absolute minimum. I recently switched to a new foundation that I am obsessed with! In my skincare post (HERE) I mentioned that I'm managing 30-something skin, so minimizing signs of aging and preventing signs of aging is my skincare goal. This new foundation, Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid is the best thing I've come across make-up / skincare-wise in a while. A friend of mine uses it and her skin always looks so flawless so I decided to give it a try. If you do decide to try it, make sure you get the right colour. I found it has oxidation after you apply it, so be aware of that. (I use Awakened right now, but will be switching to Juicy once I'm tan in the summer). However, the Argan Oil is what got me - rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids; helps nourish, protect, and preserve skin’s youthful cushion. Moisture is one of the best ways to prevent signs of aging, and this foundation does keep your skin moisturized, which is great. You will find some other beneficial ingredients with it as well. I LOVE it!! The rest of my makeup is pretty basic - eyebrows filled in, mascara primer, mascara and a little bronzer.

Would love to hear about your fave trendy weekend comfies and makeup, too!

(above) so, we clearly forgot to close the blinds for these photos. There is an adorable bistro set under the blue tarp on our balcony hahahaha. It looks pretty awful right now. Just wait until warmer weather :)

(above) Bryon and I argued about the lighting in this photo. As you may have seen in my other posts, we are just getting used to the camera, and I promise it will get better. I hope our lack of understanding with the camera won't turn anyone away hahaha. It can only go up from here!
