We all have specific skincare products we rely on. Although I have my skin under control now, it wasn't always the greatest. As a teenager, I would have painful breakouts and zits in the WORST spots on my face. I went on Accutane for a while to help and it did work and control my acne, but of course as I continued through my teens once and a while I would get break outs here and there. In my 20's my skincare improved, but it took me a while to really get to know my skin and discover what works best for me. In my late 20's I got better at washing my face before going to bed (no matter how exhausted I was) and moisturizing. But now that I'm in my 30's I've gotten a lot more serious about it, especially with wrinkles and signs of aging on the horizon. Preventing signs of aging is number one for me, because it's rare that I break out, and if I do it's usually a small zit or two and nothing that can't be controlled or covered up.

As a 31 year old speaking to anyone in their 20's, start using anti-aging methods now.

I will say, that the products above and below have made SUCH an improvement in how I look each day. Looking at photos of myself at 28 compared to 31, I have to say I look so much better. My skin looks so much more fresh and youthful. While many will argue whether or not certain products actually make a difference in the appearance of your skin and signs of aging, I have only experienced positive results from the products I've invested in. And INVESTED is a key word, because most of these products aren't cheap. But if you want to feel confident in your appearance, sometimes you have to experiment with different products that work for you, and they may not always be the cheapest. For example, the Murad products I use are ridiculously expensive, but I swear by each of them, and I would love to explore the rest of their line.

The Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture is probably my favourite. You can use it as a day moisturizer, but it doesn't have SPF in it, and I need to have that. I use it EVERY NIGHT and when I wake up in the morning my skin looks like I've drank a thousand litres of water. We are talking FRESH. I've recently ran out of mine (it lasts for quite a well because it applies really well) and I'm waiting for more.

The Rapid Collagen Infusion is not pictured below, because I accidentally forgot to take a solo pic of it. I will be honest, I don't use this one everyday. I generally use this when I come home from work and I have somewhere else to be. It plumps up my skin where fine lines have formed after a long day. This one is not a long-term treatment, you have to use it daily for it to work all the time. I prefer to use it as I need to, and so I don't have to purchase this as often.

Note that I'm not a skincare specialist and these are just the products that work for me. If you want to learn more about the products I use, scroll below. And if you are interested in giving Murad a try, I included a few 'starter' kit options that are affordable and great for sampling in the widget at the bottom of this post.

(above) Most of you are probably familiar with this cleaners, and if you're not you shoulder be. It really is 3 in 1. I rarely need to use makeup wipes with this cleaners because it literally melts everything away. My skin truly feels clean after I use this.

(above) Here's a product you may not know about. After you cleanse your face and before you put on your moisturizer, applying a serum makes a huge difference. This serum is lightweight, which is key for my skin - it hydrates and prevents signs of aging. I've been using it for over a year now and I always make sure I order one before I run out.

(above) I have been using this moisturizer for YEARS! It's one of the few that doesn't make me break out. I have really sensitive skin, so when I realized this one worked for me I stuck with it. A day miosturizer is a must for me - not only did I have skin cancer a few years ago, sun damage is real..and it will creep up on you when you least expect it.

(above) If you're looking for anti-aging properties in a skin care product, this exfoliating cleanser has it! This intensive cleanser polishes away dullness and impurities with three exfoliating agents—Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Glycolic Acid. I LOVE this stuff. I use it at night and in the shower in the morning. It's nice and gentle so it doesn't look like you put sand paper to your face.

(above) I always thought eye creams and treatments were a bit of a marketing hoax. I tried a sample of THIS product and I couldn't believe this difference it made! Now I will say this one isn't really a long-term solution, but if you have issues with your eyes it's great. It comes with little eye pads but I don't use them because I find it absorbs all the product, so I just apply it directly to the eye area before bed and wake up looking like I got 10 hours of sleep.

(above) Another product you've probably heard of. Some of the Glam Glow masks end up drying out your skin, this one actually refreshed it. I use this product once a week - usually on Sunday's when I give my skin a break from makeup and let it breath. I'll put this on in the evening and wipe off the excess before bed.

If you have any questions about any of the products, let me know and I will answer as best as I can.

Have a fabulous day wherever you are!
