GOLDEN HOUR | fashion
The title of this blog post is a bit of a joke. First of all, I'm hardly shooting in golden hour. This is what shooting a dress comes down to when you live in Canada and the weather gets frigid. Love winter, love the cold...don't have a problem with it. WHEN I'M DRESSED WARM. Not about to head out into the cold with bare legs and sandals. We had an idea of where we wanted to shoot this weekend, but the doors were locked. So - to my fellow Toronto bloggers...any ideas on where to shoot indoors during the winter!? Help a sister out.
That aside, I kind of love shooting in the parking garage of our condo. Despite the lighting being a pain in the butt (it takes a lot of work to get it somewhat okay...and honestly, the photos are not the best) but I really like the edgy effect and the raw look. And it's for sure something different. You saw me shoot in the garage in THIS post too (although those photos weren't as over-exposed). Expect to see it again!
Anywho - this dress is a beaut! If you need a holiday dress or wedding guest dress, this one is great. Especially if you plan on dancing. The slinky material moves with you...every twirl and step to the side creates a wave of movement in the skirt of the dress, and the sparkly pin stripes add a really pretty effect. The colour is great too, although looking at me in these photos, I might recommend putting on a little self tanner hahaha. It's a good time of year to pair pretty dresses with edgy leather jackets too if you're into that look. Personally, I love it. They're not only warm, it adds a bad ass component to your look hahaha. I actually bought this dress for the wedding I went to in NZ in September. The shoes are from Aldo and I knew I would be able to wear them again for a holiday party - plus, I love the pop of red.
So, some of these photos are hilarious and I look absolutely wild...but leave it to me to post them anyway hahaha. Sorry, that's just my character hahaha. My dress is sadly sold out (already!!!) but I've created a widget at the bottom of this post with lots of similar items to create a similar look :)
