CATURDAY MORNINGS | routines
Hey there! I hope you are having a good day wherever you are.
I wanted to do a post on my morning routine, and also because I'm curious how others spend theirs - so please comment! Mornings can make or break your day. Whatever happens in the morning can either help you have the best day ever or the worst day ever.
On the weekends I don't take mornings lightly. Usually I sleep in, enjoy my coffee longer than I normally would really soak in the fact that I don't have to be somewhere at a certain time. Sometimes Bryon and I go out for a late breakfast, or we'll make pancakes at home. I love sitting on the bed in my pyjamas with a cup of coffee working on the blog or reading magazines and scrolling through Pinterest. Of course, weekends are much more forgiving that way.
It's the week days that I have to make an extra effort to be able to really enjoy them hahaha. Blogging is definitely not my full time job. I'm a marketing manager, so 9-5 I belong to the corporate world. Luckily, our condo is close to both my work and Bryon's so we can afford some extra time to sleep. Usually I'll wake up between 7:14 and 7:30am, although Bryon will argue that I actually wake up at 7:45am most mornings (lies!). I get my coffee, open the blinds in the living room if B hasn't already and make my breakfast. I like to sit on the couch and look outside, or watch Lucca (my cat) people and bird watch. This is MY 10 minutes each morning to enjoy myself. Without this, I know I would feel rushed. It's so nice to have a chance to sit down and allow yourself to wake up and run through the things you need to do for the day.
After I have this time, that's when I start doing my usual makeup and hair. I'm not one of those people who can choose their outfit the night before (bless their hearts). The night before, I'm not thinking about the next day hahaha. I'm sure it would save me time, but that's just me. I do however, always make my lunch the night before, and sometimes my breakfast if I decide to have overnight oats. I take the subway to work (sad face) but luckily my subway stop is only 3 stops away, so it takes me about 20 minutes to get work from door to door. It's pretty great.
If I follow this routine each day, I find that I'm usually never tired during the day and I generally get off to a good start. I'd love to know what you HAVE to do each morning to ensure you get a good start too!
